Looks like one of the next big RavenLoches ticket giveaway events will be for the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street starring Jackie Earle Haley. Keep your eyes open for tickets in mid April.

Trivia - Jackie Earle Haley has been tremendously successful in recent years with roles in the Watchmen as Rorchach, as Guererro in the television series Human Target, also with Leonardo DiCaprio on Shutter Island, the Partridge Family and Marcus Welby M.D. Many fans were introduced to Haley as a delinquent pitcher harassing Walter Mathau in what film Trilogy?

Keep hold of that as you may hear it again in the future and it may well be worth a prize.....

GLEE is conducting a Nationwide online talent search for castmembers to possibly appear in Season 2 of the muscial drama. Starting today (March 30th, 2010) anyone between the ages of 16 and 26 can enter for the chance to submit their auditions.

MOVIE REVIEW:
CLASH OF THE TITANS (2010)

The remake of the fantasy classic, CLASH OF THE TITANS, starring Sam Worthington, who has become this decades early action hero and being billed as Mr. 3D. After his successes with AVATAR and featured with Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation, Worthington headlines CLASH with his now trademark tough guy, smart-aleck swagger.

CLASH OF THE TITANS 2010 pays homage to the 1981 original with similar themes yet brings its own version to the man versus gods tale. Perseus ,the demi-god son of Zeus, finds himself in the midfield of mankind's rebellion against the gods. Zeus, played by Liam Neeson, is at his own odds from being loved and hated by his creation, his children; mankind.

Ralph Fiennes is Hades, and has always fed off the hatred and loathing of man in his underworld realm. The other gods are there as well but in minimal roles. The introduction of a pair of "monster hunters" was comical enough but underused if their intent was to add relief to a "harrowing" adventure.

One of the goals Perseus finds himself pursuing is to find a way to defeat the Kraken. Perseus' main advocate is the stunning beauty Io, played by Gemma Arterton who can be seen in the upcoming "Prince of Persia" film. Io guides Perseus through some of his toughest decisions regarding his place in the War.

CLASH OF THE TITANS stands decently on its own merits but the 3D element is not its strongest suit, 2D viewers should be able to enjoy every aspect of the filming.

Overall, CLASH is a fun film to introduce a new generation to a wonderful mythology not the new technology. The special effects were average in the grand scheme of things, often bigger and shinier for their own sakes. There was never a WOW moment in the movie.

There is never an opportunity to connect with Perseus and feel for his Quest and that is where the film falls short of its predecessor. All the elements are there, they just don't really fall into place.

The free movie screening for CLASH OF THE TITANS is Monday, March 29th at the Winter Park REGAL theater at 7:30 pm.

The newest FINAL FANTASY XIII is available and it is incredible! FINAL FANTASY XIII is not a Playstation Exclusive, it's also available for the Xbox 360, for the first time ever.

Play N Trade also takes trade-ins for your old cell phones, so if you're like me and have a few extra phone lying around. Gather them up and bring them in for some decent credit toward FF, Modern Warfare, a new Wii game or whatever else sinks your ship.
