The Condemned - starring Stone Cold Steve Austin and Vinnie Jones. The Condemned is a very solid movie with fights that rival anything current movies. Nothing too deep into the character development but you get a great feel for Jack (played by Austin) and his past and why he's on a deserted island with 9 other death row inmates. The object: Kill and live forever with no more death sentence or you die. Simple.
The movies hook is an animal of another color. "Ripped from the Headline) could be used to paraphrase the used of this movie. It speaks to the culture who worships violence as entertainment, are willing to pay for it, recommend it to friends, introduce it virually to the Internet worlds. Nothing can stop the viewing numbers from climbing. It draws you in to current technology visiting a time when barely clothed men found in front of thousands in a colusium of Rome. Not long before we could send it around the world in a matter of seconds and want to achieve the most populat viewing of all time. To watch the 10 fightes to the death is little different than draggin in slaves and pitting them agains Roman soldiers.
Would a world watch 10 deathrow imnates fight for their lives and their freedom for $49.00? Sadly, enough, the leader of this group in the film got his superbowl numbers and yew, without a doubt, we, as Americans, and moreover, the world, would watch this and pay for the privilegde of doing do.
The movie Rocks! and is Very Theater Worthy!
The film kept viewers on again and off again at the edge of your seat with great fights, bad-ass characters.Potential thrillers lurk under ever branch during the film which leads to great movies house screams from the audience. Slow in some parts, it was fun to Steve Austin do all those things that he'd been saying in the ring for years, "whip your ass".
One fundamental truth that should be chiseled into any future film starring Steve Austin - he should never be allowed to run on camera. Like a shaved gorilla finding that he can walk upright for the first time. So distracting, that it took me out of the film whenever he started to lope. Not much in fluid-like grace, bure more than enough to 100% whip-your-ass!
We have Spiderman 3 tickets available and will still be doling them out tonight at Year of the Dog and Monday, May 2nd at Lucky You. Since these tix are on a Wonka level of frenzy, we have to be wary of how they get out.
Wonka Bars are really good tho.
See you in the Darkness.^v^J^v^
