Halo Movie more like Fallout
Monday, October 8, 2007, 09:32 PM
Thanks to this article from 1UP, it seems the Halo movie will not be coming any time soon. So...sorry. I'm not a big Halo fan myself aside from the story, so this may have turned out a huge success.

Apparently, Fox and Universal weren't able to keep their happy relationship going long enough to make this movie happen. Considering this occurred some time ago, it's surprising this was never unveiled sooner.

In case you hadn't heard, the film was planned to have direction by Peter Jackson. According to "people close to the script" the movie was suppose to have a feel of Saving Private Ryan in a sci-fi, Halo universe. Sounded interesting, if it were true, but now I guess we'll never find out.

Maybe there hope with a Gears of War movie! Oh wait, that was canceled too...is there any hope for movies based on top-selling Xbox 360 games?

Orlando GameStop wins Award
Monday, October 8, 2007, 04:51 PM
For those here in Orlando, if you read the Orlando Sentinel, then you already know they're doing a Best 101 of Orlando, and today they just released the results.

GameStop won the award for Best Video/Gaming Spot. So, huge congrats out to GameStop for topping Disney Quest and EB Games (who GameStop bought out). Kind of surprised Rhino didn't make the cut, but they did get bought out by GameStop as well.

That makes me want to head out now and celebrate this at my GameStop across the street. It's also an excuse to head out and pre-order Mass Effect for the Xbox 360 which just announced a Limited Edition is on the way.
